I'm a mom now!

My son was born last Thursday!

Now that Jett is here, I'll also focus on setting up a baby stockpile. Since my little guy is tiny, we won't be able to use our cloth diapers just yet so I'll be showing how I stock up on diapers probably for the next month until we're able.

We are breastfeeding full time so I won't be using formula but will buy and donate when a deal is too good to pass up.

Baby clothes are also super important. My little guy wears preemie sizes right now so his clothes are simply waiting for him to catch up. I may show howwhere his tiny clothes come from soon.

Right now we're 8 days out and its going well. I'm in the process of getting our coupons together so that we can be active when the deals come around. Slowly but surely I'll be back to posting deals!

Update

Wow! What a crazy last few weeks. With the end of work and the start of maternity leave, I have been busy and its about to get a little bit busier around here!

Found out today that I need to be induced within the next few days. No joke! I find out more answers tomorrow but my homebirth will not be happening and so much of my prep work for it is kind of at a standstill. I hope that information helped someone somewhere.

I do intend to do a few more things to prep for post partum depending on when the chosen date will be but I will be making my bed for postpartum, still have meals to make, have a few more tips. I'll share those soon.

Since I'm not doing as much as with coupons right now, I may be delayed but I'm still here!

Thrifty mom tip!

I think I mentioned this before in passing but after I have Jett, I'm planning to try belly binding.
It's an old practice in other parts of the world and I'm hoping it will not only help with shrinking my uterus to size but that it will help me to avoid what I've heard about your organs finding their place. Just think about it. They've been pushed up and out of the way and once there's nothing to hold them up, they have to come back down. Scary thought.
Anyways I've included two pictures. As always, please remember I do the majority of my posting from my phone right now so quality of pictures may well be compromised.
What I've done is pretty simple. I bought two 3" elastic bandages from the dollar store, sewed them together and now I have a full band to bind up my tummy after birth.
Instead of 6 inches, they measure 5 and a half which still works. I used zig zag stitching and made sure to stretch the bands as I sewed to make sure it will have some give to it.
I can't tell you how well it will work with them done this way but I have 3 weeks till my due date so I may know by then!
------------------------------------------------------
I'm finally on maternity leave. This week actually starts my first week of baby waiting. I'll be 37 weeks in a day. We're hoping to keep baby in as long as possible but of course you can always plan for things and things happen as they will.
I'm just about ready prep wise and will hopefully post more soon. I've been lagging lately. I made prefolds and a crib sheet today so I will post those up soon. The first ones aren't that great but its getting better!
